The Park Hotel, Diss
Wednesday 10 July 2019
7.30am - 9.00am
At this business breakfast event we will look at how local businesses can become more dementia friendly.
Emma Brookes from South Norfolk Council will talk about the South Norfolk Dementia Action Alliance and ways businesses can get involved. She will also look at the work of the charity Dementia Friends, an initiative from the Alzheimer’s Society which hopes to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.
South Norfolk Dementia Action Alliance aims to create a Dementia Friendly South Norfolk. It is estimated that by 2020, 2,500 people in South Norfolk will be living with dementia, and it is important that shops and businesses are able to respond and become more dementia friendly. The talk is aimed at helping us to understand what it's like to live with dementia and the actions that we can take to help our customers.
